Smart DNS Services for Vidzone TV

VidZone is a video-on-demand and music on demand service that allows you to freely play thousands of clips streaming from PS3, PS4, PSP and PS Vita consoles with the remote playback function. It is part of the PlayStation Network and is developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe and Vidzone Digital Network.

The application has been available for download on the PlayStation Store since June 11, 2009 in Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom. Between November and December 2009, it was made available in 11 other countries: Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal and New Zealand.

It can be accessed directly from the XMB in the “Music” menu and in the “TV/Video Services” menu from version 4.00 of the PS3.

It is possible to create playlists, play playlists of renowned musicians, as well as preview clips (e. g. U21 and Placebo2). The clips can be viewed in full screen and it is possible to download the music (in audio).

The service is gradually developing and regularly includes new titles.

Sony releases service results on December 23, 2009:

2 million users;
200 million clips played;
The most watched clip is Gangnam Style.

On November 9, 2011, Sony Interactive Entertainment will present and make available version 2.0 of its VidZone service with a new interface, more intuitive, more fluid and more ergonomic.

On March 31, 2017, the VidZone application closed on PS3/PS4 following the update 1.04 “End of life patch”. Since that date, a message has been displayed saying “VidZone is no longer available. Go to PlayStation®Store to download more great digital entertainment applications. “like Vevo.
